Media Monitors Receives MRC Accreditation

In the US, Media Monitors has become the first radio monitoring firm to be awarded accreditation by standards organisation the Media Rating Council (MRC) for its radio spot service.

Philippe GeneraliThe service records and analyses thousands of radio spots every week on stations in North America. Subscribers not only see what spots ran and when, but also hear the spot in the context of the actual programming. From the programming log or a report list, it is possible to see the name of the sponsor, the advertiser's parent company, the ad agency and the target demo (when available).

President and CEO Philippe Generali says the news is a 'thrilling moment' for Media Monitors. 'After years of rolling out the most reliable monitoring service for broadcasters, this is the icing on the cake. We continue to pledge to the industry the highest quality data with unmatched speed,' he adds.

The MRC's Executive Director George Ivie congratulated the firm and confirmed: 'MRC accreditation provides subscribers with confidence that Media Monitors is identifying and reporting radio advertising occurrences in accordance with MRC Standards.'

In addition to radio spot tracking, Media Monitors offers newspaper ad tracking and provides sales and marketing tools for broadcast TV, cable, media research firms and ad agencies. The firm is a subsidiary of RCS, which develops broadcast and webcast software.

Earlier in the year, Arbitron client software veteran Scott Musgrave was appointed to the Media Monitors team.
