TPI Launches Outsourcing Insight Unit

TPI, the outsourcing data and advisory firm owned by Information Services Group (ISG), has launched a new business unit with an independent management team which will provide information and insights to outsourcing and offshoring service providers.

The new unit, TPI Momentum, will deliver qualitative information, including insights and analysis about market trends and dynamics, plus its own observations and perspectives.

'Many service providers are increasingly requesting services and information from TPI because they respect and value our integrity, knowledge, and insights into the needs of their sourcing clients,' according to Michael Connors, Chairman and CEO of ISG and TPI, and former senior exec at Nielsen and VNU. 'We feel TPI Momentum will give them a deeper understanding of the issues sourcing clients face, as well as the agility to respond to their clients requirements at an increasingly faster pace.'

The new suite of information products will be offered on a membership and subscription basis, and will expand and evolve to meet needs in the sourcing marketplace, the firm says.

TPI Momentum's leadership team comprises:

• Melany Williams - Partner and MD in charge of the unit, who heads the TPI Hidden List Innovation Center where the new TPI Momentum product and services were conceived
• John Buscher - Partner and MD responsible for global business development with a focus on the Americas
• John Keppel - Partner and MD responsible for TPI Momentum in EMEA, based in the UK
• Paul Reynolds - Director and Chief Research Officer, with extensive experience working with the service provider community with META Group (Gartner), and
• Sid Pai - Partner and MD of India, based in Bangalore, who leads TPI's efforts in India and will work closely with the TPI Momentum team.

ISG was formed in 2006 as a shell for building an information-based services group through acquisition. In November 2007, the company made its key purchase to date when it acquired outsourcing advisory firm TPI for $280m in cash.
