Indonesian Firm Debuts Election Data Tool
Ahead of the 2009 elections in Indonesia, Jakarta-based research firm MarkPlus Insight has launched a system to enable political parties, analysts and candidates to access and analyze opinion polls and map voters' behaviour in each election district.
The new Indonesian Political Marketing Research (IPMR) tool has been designed to examine the popularity, acceptability and electability of political parties and presidential candidates. Voter trends and participation levels can also be accessed, and users can compare survey results based on demographic profiles such as age, gender, marital status, race and professional background.
Data is displayed in the form of interactive charts which alter as a user searches for poll results. Alternatively, data can be accessed through a map which enables users to focus on feedback obtained from specific provinces, districts or cities.
A survey conducted by MarkPlus in November 2008 covered 77 election areas in 33 provinces in the region.
Associate Research Manager Farid Subkhan said that the firm will be updating the software as the elections approach.
MarkPlus Insight offers a broad range of fact-finding services - from quantitative and qualitative surveys, to competitive intelligence and is online at www.markplusinsight.com .
