Information Resources Underlines Business Progress at Annual Meeting
2/6/00

At the recent annual shareholders' meeting Joe Durrett, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Information Resources detailed continued and significant progress for the company on both the domestic and international front.

According to Durrett, "During the past nine months, IRI has been successful in restoring its US revenue. More than 24 key existing client contracts have been renewed, and 14 other new US clients have come to IRI. Total revenue for clients that renewed exceeded earlier contract revenue for those clients, and the combination of renewals and new client revenue produced a 10% gain in US revenue among negotiated contracts in the last nine months."

IRI's international business also demonstrated significant progress with business revenue for the first quarter of 2000 up 15% over the same quarter last year in local currency terms. "We won substantial business with SmithKline Beecham in Great Britain, and there was progress in gaining access to named account data: Unes and Ditexal in Italy, Hyparlo and Monoprix in France, and J. Sainsbury and Lloyd's Chemists in the United Kingdom," he said. "IRI's international business is on track to return a profit in 2000 for the first time since the European start-up in 1992."
