Forrester Launches European eBusiness TechRankings
13/3/01

Research analyst Forrester has just announced the launch of its new system designed to help select technology vendors across Europe. Called eBusiness TechRankings, the system is based on an interactive selection research for client companies, accessible via the web.

TechRankings have been compiled through a combination of strategic analysis and laboratory-based product testing. To this end, Forrester has worked with independent industry analyst Doculabs to conduct the product testing and assessment for each vendor. It has then presented the analysis in the form of an interactive research database. The whole system is continuously updated in an effort to help firms understand the rapidly changing technology markets, as well as to help maximise the efficiency of their selections.

Since the system launch in the US in October 2000, Forrester has developed four different eBusiness TechRankings categories. These also now apply in the European context. They are: Customer Service Applications, Application Servers, Content Management, and Commerce Platforms.

Commenting on the European launch, Emily Nagle Green, managing director of Forrester's European HQ, said, "At present, European companies can spend months and millions of euros selecting eBusiness software and services from an ever-growing array of vendors. TechRankings is an easy, efficient tool that cuts through the hype from vendors and radically speeds the testing and selection process, delivering valuable time and investment savings."
