Latest results from e-MORI’s March 2001 Technology Tracker show that mobile phone ownership has increased by 19 percentage points in the past year.
Two thirds (65%) of adults in Great Britain now own a mobile phone compared to 46% at the same time last year. Interestingly, 2 million, 26% of adults aged 65 and over now own a mobile phone, almost double last year’s figure (14%).
e-MORI has been monitoring trends and developments in new technology since January 1997 using the e-MORI Technology Tracker. The Technology Tracker is a fortnightly survey of technology usage based on interviews with a nationally representative sample of adults (aged 15+) across Great Britain.
