University of Iowa Health Care has hired Ellen Barron for a new position, Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications. Barron, who starts in the first week of August, has spent the last five years as an independent consultant and principal for the Profit Management Group in West Chester, PA, and in total has three decades of experience in health care business roles. The role covers internal and external marketing and communications activities for the UI Health Care unit, including media relations; alumni and collegiate relations; community outreach; and marketing management including branding, market research, Internet strategies and advertising.
