Rhuta Wekhande In New Delhi, Ipsos India has appointed former Vodafone exec Rhuta Wekhande as Chief Financial Officer. She replaces Ramnath Pai, who has been promoted to the role of Chief Financial Officer, Ipsos Sub Sahara Africa (SSA), based in Johannesburg.

Wekhande (pictured) joins with eighteen years' experience, having previously held senior level positions with Vodafone and AGL Networks. In her new role, she will report to Andrew Wong, CFO, Ipsos APAC, with a dotted line reporting to Amit Adarkar, Ipsos India CEO & Director Operations, APAC. Wekhande takes over from Pai, who joined Ipsos in 2006 as Senior Manager of Global Finance, and has been CFO of Ipsos in India for the past more than five years. Pai will report to Olivier Champourlier, CFO EMEA and on the dotted line to Clive Little, CEO, Ipsos SSA.

Adarkar comments: 'A CFO's role in a market research set-up is extremely critical - apart from keeping a keen eye on topline growth and ensuring healthy bottomlines and day to day challenges of careful financial planning, cash flow management, budget and forecasting, the role is transforming. From a number cruncher, the CFO's role now encompasses business strategy and counseling top management, in key business decisions. Wekhande will play a key role in our growth strategy.'
