Angus Reid to Run UK Political Polls
Canada-based public opinion firm Angus Reid Strategies has hooked up with UK political blog PoliticalBetting.com to run online polls on the site, which will track voter intentions leading up to Britain's next general election.
PoliticalBetting.com has received more than a million comments since it was launched five years ago.
Since 2006, Angus Reid Strategies has covered eight provincial elections in Canada, and claims to have accurately predicted the results of each.
The firm says this latest partnership will expand its international political polling presence into the UK.
'PoliticalBetting.com has quickly established itself as the 'go to' site for political news, facts and opinions,' says Andy Morris, UK Research Director for Vision Critical - Angus Reid Strategies' parent company. 'We'll be using the techniques that have made us Canada's most accurate polling organisation to bring a fresh face to opinion polls in Britain.'
Angus Reid Strategies is currently applying for membership of the British Polling Council and is already following the council's transparency requirements.
Last week, news broke that Vision Critical and Angus Reid Strategies are to merge.
