Adobe to Open Omniture Data Centre in UK

Software giant Adobe is planning to open a new data centre outside London, to serve clients of its Omniture Business Unit in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Brad RencherAdobe snapped up online analytics firm Omniture for around $1.8bn last year, with the intention of combining its own content creation tools with Omniture's web analytics, measurement and optimization technologies.

The firm has since converted Omniture into an 'ingredient brand'; with products re-named - for example - 'Adobe SiteCatalyst, powered by Omniture'.

Its new data centre is being built to provide 'faster' data processing, improved application usability and performance, and expanded localized data storage capabilities.

'This centre will serve our growing list of international customers and is aligned with our commitment to be compliant with changing privacy and data collection standards,' explains Brad Rencher, VP and GM of the Omniture Business Unit at Adobe. 'Data collected on behalf of our European customers will be processed in Europe.'
