Marklein to Lead WCG Analytics Group

In the US, marcoms agency WCG has appointed former Weber Shandwick exec Tim Marklein to direct its Analytics group, which provides digital and social analytics based on a mix of software, services and communications expertise.

Tim MarkleinWCG offers services including branding, design, digital and traditional marketing, corporate and product PR from offices in five US cities and in London.

Marklein joins from PR giant Weber Shandwick, where he mostly recently founded and led the Measurement & Strategy practice, and developed analytics systems and services covering brand, reputation, messages and audiences.

Prior to this, he led global PR for HP's enterprise business, and was Director of Corporate PR following the HP-Compaq merger; and earlier he spent ten years at two Silicon Valley agencies which applied research, competitive dynamics and strategy to communications programs.

In his new role, Marklein is also tasked with expanding the technology business practice. Chairman and CEO Jim Weiss comments: 'Tim is an ideal hire because he combines 20 years of proven in-house and agency technology business experience with analytics, a discipline that is foundational at WCG and is fast becoming essential to our clients and their businesses.'
