Appinions Raises $3m for Influencer Platform
New York-based Appinions has secured $3m in funding, including $2m from the sale of a 15.4% stake in the business to Toronto-based merchant bank Difference Capital Funding.
Through the Appinions platform (formerly known as Jodange), organizations can identify, analyze, engage and measure relevant influencers. The system extracts and aggregates opinions from more than five million sources, including blogs, social networks, forums, and newspaper and magazine articles.
Appinion’s latest funding will be used to fuel its sales and marketing efforts, and follows on from a $1.2m investment made in 2009, which it has since been using to extend its reach in the media, legal, energy and technology sectors.
Co-founder and CEO Larry Levy (pictured) comments: ‘We have a world-class product that’s on the leading edge of influence marketing. We can now build a stellar sales and marketing team to achieve our goal of being the number one choice for PR and marketing professionals who want a more effective and results-focused service for their influence marketing campaigns.’
