Lynch Joins ICM as Data Services Director

MrWeb's former Features Editor Teresa Lynch has returned to an ops role in the position of Data Services Director at ICM Research, bringing nearly three decades of operations experience to the company.

Teresa LynchCreston-owned ICM Research recently conducted a review of its data collection processes, and merged its face-to-face specialist Fieldwork UK with sister agency ICM Direct, in a bid to reflect the move away from telephone-based interviewing to online and mobile techniques.

Lynch (pictured) joins following a two year stint as Features Editor of MrWeb's MRT (trends, technologies and techniques) features section. She began her market research career at IMR and RS Consulting, before helping set up Kudos Research, where she was part of a team which grew the company from a six station CATI operation to a multi-mode international data collection and analysis specialist, prior to its sale to Cello in 2005. After 22 years at Kudos, Lynch took up an operations management role at Virtual Surveys (now Join the Dots).

Andrew Wiseman, MD of ICM Group, comments: 'Teresa not only brings with her extensive experience but an outstanding knowledge of the systems, protocols and documentation associated with the achievement of the rigorous research quality standards we demand. She will be an invaluable addition to the team.'

In June, Creston's insight division posted a 7% drop in revenue to £13.8m for the year ended 31 March. At the time, Creston CEO Don Elgie said the group would continue to review the ICM business closely to ensure costs remain aligned with performance. However, he stressed that ICM's focus on developing further expertise in new research technologies and digital platforms is creating 'good' new business opportunities.
