Beacon Adds Customization Features

US-based research tech firm Decipher has added new features to its DIY survey platform Beacon, allowing more scope for customized survey building. They include an Alternative Question Toolkit (AQT) and an alternative question library.

Decipher - which recently began operating under the name Decrypt in the UK - specializes in online survey programming, sampling, data collection and data reporting, using proprietary Web-based applications.

Beacon was launched in December 2010, added mobile capabilities the following year and then mobile reporting in May 2012. The latest changes assist users in creating surveys to suit their specific needs and tastes, in terms of layout, look and feel - using HTML5, CSS and Javascript - plus question types and other factors. It includes built-in checks such for error reporting, translation support and device targeting and optimization; and allows the building of customised libraries of alternative questions.

CEO and co-Founder Jayme Plunkett says the upgrades are 'quite extensive and empowering for those seeking more engaging surveys and device optimized solutions.'
