Another New CEO for Webtrends

Online analytics pioneer Webtrends has named former Coremetrics CEO Joe Davis as its latest Chief Executive, just five months after appointing David Mitchell to the role.

Joe DavisPortland, Oregon-based Webtrends, which also has US offices in San Francisco and Seattle, along with international operations in the UK, Sweden and Australia, provides marketers with analytics tools across mobile, social media and web-enabled devices.

Mitchell was hired last September, replacing Alex Yoder who is the only man to have lasted any real time in the role in recent years - Yoder was the firm's fourth CEO in a year when he took over in August 2008. On replacing him, Mitchell said that he was 'looking forward to building on the innovation that Alex Yoder brought to the organization'.

Davis (pictured) joins from mobile ecommerce tech firm Tocata where he was CEO, prior to which he served as CEO of web analytics business Coremetrics, prior to its acquisition by IBM in 2010. Before this, he held senior roles at PeopleSoft, in the eBusiness division of Nortel Networks and in the CRM division at Remedy.

Mitchell, who continues to serve as an Operating Partner at private equity firm Francisco Partners and as a Webtrends' Board Director, commented on the appointment: 'During this time of transformation and growth in digital marketing, there is no better person to lead Webtrends than Joe Davis. He brings a wealth of experience in the web analytics and digital marketing space and we are very fortunate to bring him on to the team.'
