UK Biker Panel Launched

Newcastle, UK-based Explain Research has teamed up with REALsafe Technologies, creator of the REALRIDER app, to launch what they describe as 'the industry's first dedicated online research panel of motorcycle users'.

Zoe Farrington and Kim DavisREALRIDER, the brainchild of Durham-based REALsafe and currently being piloted by the North East Ambulance Service, detects when a motorbike rider has been involved in an accident and sends an alert. Users of the app are now invited to join the REALRIDER Research Panel and share their opinions on motorcycle-related topics. More than 1,000 have expressed an interest in joining the panel, which launches this week.

Client companies working in the motorcycle industry will be offered a subscription service to gain access to the panel's views on clothing and accessories, tyres, insurance and so on.

REALsafe co-founder Zoe Farrington (pictured) says the panel 'has clearly plugged a gap that has existed in the Motorcycle Industry for a long time', and adds: 'we are thrilled at the level of interest from prospective clients.'

Explain Manager Kim Davis (pictured) comments: 'Working with REALsafe Technologies was the opportunity we were looking for to take the technology we have developed to a new level. We are extremely confident that the take up of the subscription will be high in the coming year and have predicted strong growth in next financial year as a result.'

Qual and quant agency Explain was founded in 1993 and employs more than 50 people. Last year it reported an 8% growth in sales revenue, to £1.04m, for the financial year ending March 31st 2013.
