Former comScore CFO Tarpey Joins Videology

In the US, online video ad targeting specialist Videology has hired former comScore finance chief Kenneth Tarpey as its Chief Financial Officer, replacing Scott Macleod who has moved into the position of President.

Kenneth TarpeyBaltimore-based Videology develops video ad technology that helps clients target precise consumer segments by demographics, psychographics and behavioral habits. In 2012, the firm launched a tool called 'TV Amplifier', which enables advertisers to apply Nielsen's cross-platform measurement data to their targeted digital video campaigns; then in March, the company began integrating Nielsen TV data into its platform, to help marketers plan and measure campaigns running across both linear television and online video.

Tarpey (pictured) joins after five years at digital measurement firm comScore, leading its Finance function during a period of rapid growth, including international expansion and multiple acquisitions. Prior to this he was CFO at video surveillance software provider ObjectVideo, and a number of other technology companies. Earlier in his career, Tarpey served as a senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Chairman and CEO Scott Ferber comments: 'We are thrilled to bring someone on board to lead our financial operations with Ken's proven track record of success with high-growth companies in the technology sector. In particular, his experience and stewardship of successful, publicly traded companies, especially in the digital media space, will be invaluable as Videology anticipates our future opportunities including a potential initial public offering.'

Macleod is now tasked with leading the executive team, while ensuring operational efficiencies and financial growth. Prior to joining Videology last year, he provided investment advisory services to corporations, served as MD and founding member of Merrill Lynch's Global Communications Group and founded Merrill Lynch's Asia Pacific Telecoms practice. Ferber says that with Macleod and the exec team now overseeing the day-to-day running of the company, he will be better able to focus on the 'strategic vision' for Videology.
