Paura Sisters Join Alcon Entertainment

American film and TV production company Alcon Entertainment has hired National Research Group co-founder Catherine Paura, and her sister Angela, as co-presidents of Worldwide Marketing.

Catherine and Angela PauraFounded in 1997 by film producers Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, Los Angeles-based Alcon develops and finances films that are ultimately distributed by Warner Bros. The Pauras join after running their own marketing research and consulting firm Capstone Global Marketing, which they set up in 2012 to help movie studios better understand their audiences.

Catherine previously co-founded the National Research Group (NRG) in 1978, with Joe Farrell, in order to introduce market testing and consumer research to Holywood. The pair sold NRG to Nielsen in 2003, and Farrell passed away in 2011. Sister Angela previously served as COO at Nielsen NRG, and she held senior positions at Viacom and JP Morgan Chase.

In a statement, Kosove and Johnson commented: 'We are delighted Angela and Catherine are joining the Alcon family. Together, they bring their unique, and vast experience in marketing films of every possible genre, which make them perfect to lead our marketing group. They are true pioneers in this industry.'

The pair replace Richard Ingber, who is leaving to resume running his marketing consultancy, Richard Ingber Entertainment.
