ResearchBods Buys Fieldwork Specialist ClearStream

In the North of England, online panel firm ResearchBods has acquired Harrogate-based phone, panel, community and online qual specialist ClearStream Research. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

James ClutterbuckClearStream was founded in 2008 by former Opinionpanel / Kudos / Quaestor exec James Clutterbuck (pictured), and offers both traditional field services and a platform for online communities. Leeds-based ResearchBods says the acquisition strengthens its insight community solution ex-plor, while expanding its footprint to Athens, less than a year after it opened an office in Australia.

As part of the deal, Clutterbuck will focus on development and future projects, while ResearchBods co-founders Jonathan Clough and Robin Hilton will head up the ex-plor arm and the digital fieldwork solutions division FieldLab, respectively.

Clough comments on the acquisition: 'The expertise ClearStream's development team provides, underpins our commitment to provide the best communities platform and technology solutions for researchers. Over the last year we've invested heavily in technology and the addition of ClearStream enables us to roll out new and exciting products at a faster pace.'
