Xaxis Replaces Sweeney with Webby

In the US, WPP's audience profiling and targeting division Xaxis has appointed former NBCUniversal exec Jason Webby as Senior Vice President, Client Engagement, replacing Matt Sweeney who was recently promoted to the post of CEO, North America.

Jason WebbyXaxis was formed in 2011, promising to bring together the global group's ad buying capabilities with a colossal database to offer clients the 'world's largest pool of audience profiles'. The firm now delivers results for more than 2,800 clients in 44 markets across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East.

Webby (pictured) was previously SVP, Sales at NBCUniversal company CNBC International, overseeing commercial activity for broadcast, digital and mobile advertising, custom and native content creation, research and event sales across EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America. Prior to this, he was SVP, Global Head of Sales for The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), with commercial responsibility for the Subscription Data Services and Custom Research practices; and earlier he was SVP of Advertising for The Economist.

In his new role, he takes on Sweeney's former role leading the Programmatic Sales and Account Management team in the US. Commenting on the appointment, Sweeney said: 'Jason brings an unparalleled understanding of the needs of both global advertisers and the world's largest media companies to Xaxis. He will play a key role in growing our direct client business in the US, developing strategic partnerships and launching new data and tech products that enhance our lead... in programmatic capability and performance'.
