SMI's Automated Eye Tracker Launches Out of Beta

In Germany, computer vision technology developer SensoMotoric Instruments (SMI) has launched its ASGM analysis solution for mobile eye tracking out of private beta.

Arnd RoseSMI introduced 3-D eye tracking capabilities in 2013, allowing the analysis of real-time gaze interaction in virtual environments. Its new ASGM system (Automated Semantic Gaze Mapping), which has been in beta for the past year, aggregates gaze data from eye tracking videos, and delivers quantitative results for immediate analysis. During the trial, the system was applied across a wide range of applications including by market research agency PRS IN VIVO, which used the system in a shopper research project with geographically dispersed respondents.

Arnd Rose (pictured), SMI's Mobile Eye Tracking Product Manager, comments: 'With the new automated analysis, SMI's Eye Tracking Glasses (ETG) solution has become the first fully-scalable package on the market. Now the end-to-end process has become easy, intuitive, and efficient. Even the largest quantitative studies with hundreds of participants and hundreds of hours of video can, with ASGM, be processed in less than one day'.
