Customer Feedback Specialist BirdEye Raises $25m

US-based customer feedback specialist BirdEye has raised $25m in a round of investment which will be used to drive product innovation and business growth across several sectors.

BirdEye's platform captures online customer sentiment from review sites, social media, Net Promoter Scores and support cases in real-time; converting it into actionable data and helping clients respond. Last year, the firm launched a mobile app, through which users can view and manage customer feedback on the go.

The latest round of funding has been led by World Innovation Lab (WiL) with participation from existing investor Trinity Ventures. In 2016, BirdEye raised $8m in Series A funding from Trinity Ventures and Silicon Valley execs including Marc Benioff, CEO and founder of Salesforce, and Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang.

Through the latest investment, BirdEye has added venture capitalist Rob Theis to its Board of Directors, following a career which has included taking five companies public, and serving on the Boards of companies such as HubSpot, BrightRoll and RingCentral. Naveen Gupta, CEO of BirdEye, comments: 'I'm thrilled to have Rob on board - my prior experience and relationship with him was the main driver for partnering with WiL. In addition to his formidable track record, I deeply value Rob's judgement and transformational leadership style'.
