Former IRI Man Hoodis Named Mood Media CEO

Former IRI Retail President David Hoodis has joined in-store solutions company Mood Media as Chief Executive Officer, following the retirement of President & CEO Steven Richards.

David HoodisMood claims to create greater emotional connections between brands and consumers through the right combination of in-store music, digital signage, hold music, on-hold messaging, scent, and interactive mobile marketing solutions. The company reaches more than 150 million consumers each day through more than 500,000 subscriber locations in 100+ countries around the globe.

Hoodis (pictured) joins from retail and healthcare data giant IRI, where as President of Retail he worked on expanding solutions for retail clients and broadening retailer partnerships. Prior to this he worked for NCR Retail as VP of Software, Strategy and Innovation, and at the same time founded consultancy SMART Retail Solutions Group. Earlier, he co-founded and was CEO of Walmart store-based fast food chain Snack Box; and he was EVP at Modell's Sporting Goods; having spent eight years at Walmart, latterly as VP of Innovations and Operations.

In his new role, Hoodis will focus on helping clients with growth strategies by creating better customer experiences and increasing customer engagement and loyalty. He will also direct Mood globally. Board member David Sambur comments: 'David has spent his entire career at the intersection of retail and customer experience, which provides him with the insight and relationships to open doors and drive value across client verticals. I believe his decisive, results-driven approach and long history of developing successful growth strategies for technology-enabled businesses will make a very strong impact'.

Additionally, Ken Eissing, current President of Mood's In-Store Media Division, has been appointed President of the company.
