IRI Names President of Americas Retail

Retail and healthcare data giant IRI has appointed former NCR and Walmart exec David Hoodis as President, Americas Retail.

Hoodis (pictured) worked most recently at NCR Retail as VP of Software, Strategy and Innovation, during which time he also founded consultancy SMART Retail Solutions Group. Before this, he co-founded and was CEO of Walmart store-based fast food chain Snack Box, and he was EVP at Modell's Sporting Goods. Earlier in his career, Hoodis spent eight years at Walmart, where he latterly served as VP of Innovations and Operations; served as CIO of Prime Retail; and held a number of positions at Ernst & Young, and Kagan-Edelman/Commercial Property Advisors.

In his new role, Hoodis will work closely with President of the Americas Piyush Chaudhari, to drive the growth and expansion of IRI's services to the retail industry. Commenting on the appointment, Chaudhari said: 'David brings a 360-degree view of the retail industry from his experiences at retailers, consultancies and other organizations serving the market. IRI is committed to arming retailers with the information and insights to meet the many challenges they face today, and David will be instrumental in helping these companies achieve outsized growth'.
