Contentsquare Buys Accessibility Specialist AMW

US-based user experience (UX) analytics platform Contentsquare has acquired accessibility software company Adapt My Web (AMW), which helps make digital content accessible to those with reading issues including visual impairment and dyslexia. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Jonathan CherkiFounded in 2018 in France, AMW provides a module which allows web site visitors to adjust text size, change contrast and highlights, and add text-to-speech functions to their sites, without the need to recode. The company also offers audits and scoring services, to help businesses ensure their digital content is fully accessible.

Contentsquare says the acquisition will help it ensure brands can create experiences which are accessible for all; and it will also launch the Contentsquare Foundation, aiming to make accessibility technology available for universities, schools and healthcare organizations.

Founder and CEO Jonathan Cherki (pictured) comments: 'Today, 1 billion people in the world live with some type of disability, including vision, auditory or cognitive impairment, yet 70% of web sites are not accessible to them. With our reach and R&D resources focused on optimizing digital experiences, we will play a major role in ensuring equal access to digital content worldwide'.
