Comscore Names Michael Vinson Chief Research Officer

In the US, Comscore has promoted analytics leader Michael Vinson to the position of Chief Research Officer.

Michael VinsonFor the past eleven years, Vinson (pictured) has served as SVP for Analytics Strategy, first at Rentrak and then Comscore when the two companies merged in 2016. During this time he has helped develop and reinvent Comscore's measurement solutions across TV, computers and mobile devices. Under his leadership, the firm has launched its TV measurement capabilities, maintained MRC accreditation on both content and ad measurement in the digital space, and is now redesigning all its measurement systems with a privacy focus.

Earlier in his career, Vinson was SVP and MD of Digital Insights and Analytics at Starcom Media Vest Group. Before this, he served as Chief Research Scientist at erinMedia, where he was granted seven patents relating to mathematical methods for estimating demographics from privacy-compliant digital set-top box data.

In his new role, Vinson will continue to guide the development of all Comscore methodologies across all platforms. CEO Bill Livek comments: 'Michael is a true data science visionary and change agent.
