Kantar Public Hires Kenya Country Director

Kantar Public, the global group's government and public sector practice, has hired research scientist Rhoune Ochako for a new role, Country Director of its Development Practice in Kenya.

Rhoune OchakoEstablished by Michelle Harrison in 2016, Kantar Public offers evidence and advisory services to support the delivery of public policy, services and communications. Earlier this month, the practice launched a data science platform and toolkit, PUBLIC Evidential, which promises advanced data blending and analytics to help 'build and enrich' the evidence base for public policy decisions.

Ochako (pictured) joins from Kesho Bora Center for Social and Health Research, where she served as Country Lead, prior to which she held roles with the Population Council, UNICEF, Population Services International and the African Population and Health Research Center. She is an author and co-author of multiple papers in academic journals about maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS and has presented and spoken across the world at conferences and meetings on development issues and her research.

In her new position, Ochako will lead the Kantar Public team in Kenya. Commenting on the appointment, CEO of Kantar Public's Development Practice Caroline Connolly, said: 'Rhoune has rich, diverse experience working with national and international organisations across research, monitoring, evaluation, and the provision and use of evidence to influence policy and programs. Her extensive skillset across policy areas - from maternal, neonatal and child health to education, water, sanitation and hygiene, food security and population issues - makes her an outstanding leader for this team'.
