Kantar Public Launches Data Science Platform

May 17 2021

Kantar Public, the global group's government and public sector practice, has launched a data science platform and toolkit, 'PUBLIC Evidential', which promises advanced data blending and analytics to help 'build and enrich' the evidence base for public policy decisions.

Michelle HarrisonThe platform was originally built during 2020 as a means of integrating data from multiple sources, using machine learning and geospatial modelling to support the targeting of vaccination programmes in East Africa; and then developed in partnership with clients during public health work in India and public transport planning in the Netherlands. The result is a system used to advise clients on the broader design of policy for effective interventions, making better use of existing data and reducing the need for surveys.

Global CEO Dr Michelle Harrison (pictured) says institutions are committed to making more data openly accessible, and that data provenance 'remains at the heart of everything Kantar does... PUBLIC Evidential marks a further evolution in Kantar Public's data ecosystem. It also enables us to model geo-located policy interventions, which has wide applications from mobility policy to public health'.
