Investor Buys Major Stake in MediaSense

Private equity firm Apiary Capital has acquired a 'significant stake' in London-based MediaSense, whose Analytics practice manages more than $15 billion of media expenditure on behalf of clients.

Andy Pearch and Graham BrownFounded by Andy Pearch and Graham Brown in 2009, MediaSense has developed a media auditing platform called DiPA (Digital Performance Analytics), powered by a proprietary insight engine, machine learning techniques and a team of analysts and data scientists to unlock incremental value for brands. The firm's proprietary I/O framework provides analytical assessment of an organisation's internal and external media operating model (agency, data and technology), to determine new models and operating principles through which to deliver growth and productivity.

Mark Salter, Managing Partner, Apiary Capital comments: 'Over the last few years, we have been keenly following the marketing communications advisor sector and specifically MediaSense's development; so, when the opportunity arose to invest in the preeminent company in this category, we jumped at it. We are incredibly excited to be invested and involved with this very successful business'.
