London Launch for New Product Insights Firm Waveform

In the UK two former executives of research firm Trinity McQueen, Chris Handford and Daniel Eddy, have launched a new full-service product consultancy, Waveform Insight Studio.

Daniel Eddy and Chris HandfordHeadquartered in Barbican, central London, Waveform will support 'brands in the tech, media and digital space' via mixed-method services including audience insight, strategic market research, UX research and CX research. Three key areas of focus are Product Discovery, Product Definition and Product Delivery.

At Trinity McQueen - which announced a return to strong growth ten days ago - Handford was Director of Insight Services and Head of the London office, while Eddy was Head of Product & Research and led the Tech and Media team. The two joined the company when it was still known as Brass Insight, and left earlier this month.

Handford (pictured right) is a mixed-methods researcher with more than twenty years' experience in strategic MR, CX and UX research, and his earlier roles included Research and Innovations Director at SPA Future Thinking (now Savanta); and digital / tech research roles at BT TV, eDreams / Opodo, Kantar and Ipsos-MORI. Eddy (pictured left) previously held insight roles with GfK and 2CV, consulting for brands in the tech, media and digital space

'Our goal with Waveform is to help bridge the gaps that have developed between market, UX and CX research' says Handford. 'All too often, we see teams and agencies doing their type of research really well but they don't collaborate or share insights enough, which diminishes the focus on the customer. These insight silos and resulting knowledge gaps are an impediment to bringing to market truly valuable products, services or content. We believe greater alignment across research specialisms is a positive for audiences and brands alike. What we offer with Waveform is a way for businesses to partner with a consultancy that can support them with user insight across the entirety of the design and development process'.

Eddy says the new partners have developed 'a series of ready-to-launch systematic research services that blend the latest ResTech and ResearchOps solutions, paired with quality participants and the product insight frameworks clients rely on'. He explains: 'We've built a modular suite of adaptable research services that span the product development journey. These ready-to-go services remove a lot of the upfront time and effort involved in commissioning research. We hope our transparent approach, fast timescales, and keen pricing, remove many of the barriers to commissioning product research and the drag factors that slow down decision-making'.
