Vovici Tool Enables Offline Data Collection

Research software and EFM provider Vovici has launched a new tool to allow organizations to collect survey data offline on any PC, and then upload the feedback to a centralized response database.

Vovici says that while many surveys are conducted online, customers often require an offline method for gathering data without reverting to paper or the phone. Its new 'Vovici Mobile Survey - PC Edition' platform allows users to gather data via Windows Vista or XP-based PCs and upload the captured responses to a server-hosted response database once an online connection has been established.

Being offline means that the system could be used by sales teams to gather feedback in person as they meet with clients, or by fieldworkers conducting assessments in areas where wireless Internet connections are not possible. It can also be used in kiosk-type formats based in shopping malls, or at tradeshows.

The new platform works in conjunction with the firm's EFM Community, which enables firms to create and manage online communities and online panels.

'Vovici is continually expanding the modes in which customers can gather feedback data,' said Chairman and CEO Dean Wiltse, adding that the launch comes in response to customer requests.

Vovici provides online survey software, online community creation, panel management, analysis and reporting, and research services. The firm recently reported record growth in its Software as a Service business, which increased 157% over the firm's Q1 2008 performance.
