New UK Agency Hits Ground Running

In the UK, Buckingham Research Associates founder Maggie Drye has launched a new company, Insitas. Former Buckingham execs Sandra Halstead and Duncan Fergusson join the start-up team, along with Acritas CEO Lisa Hart who becomes a Non-Executive Director.

Insitas will focus on customer and employee research, including innovation, shopping dynamics, customer satisfaction, segmentation and employee engagement; and will complement professional services research specialist Acritas. The formal partnership of the two is to be known as 'The Acritas - Insitas Group'.

Drye worked for six years in a multi-national confectionery company, went freelance until 1988 and then founded Buckingham which was sold to a PLC in 2002. Hart began as a Trainee Analyst with Buckingham in 1994 and after four years moved to law firm Denton Wilde Sapte. She combined experience from the two to launch specialist b2b research agency Acritas in 2002. Drye read about Acritas in the trade press two years ago, which led to the pair meeting up again.

Drye comments: 'Our partnership with Acritas gives us the critical mass and resource of an established agency combined with the freshness and passion of a new venture.' Hart says she is very excited about the possibilities and notes: In some cases, Insitas and Acritas will be working together with clients that have both b2b and consumer stakeholders, for example in the insurance industry.'

Acritas, which last week reported rapid expansion, has offices in London and New York and is headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne.
