In the US Donald Baer, Chairman of media-focused comms and market research firm Penn, Schoen & Berland, has been appointed to the Board of digital media and technology company DailyMe Inc. DailyMe’s technology platform powers a personalized consumer news service, based on user behaviour and contextual relevance. Baer, who is also the Worldwide Vice Chairman of global communications firm Burson-Marsteller, has extensive strategic, operational and creative experience at the White House, global companies and US media organizations. In his current positions, Baer provides strategic counsel for clients ranging across many business and not-for-profit sectors, especially for technology, communications and media companies. Before joining Burson-Marsteller and Penn, Schoen and Berland, Baer was Discovery Communication's Senior EVP, where he oversaw a variety of business, production and communications operations at the company. Before this, he was a Senior Adviser to President Bill Clinton, as Director of Strategic Planning and Communications and Director of Speech Writing and Research for the White House. Previously, Baer was an Editor at US News and World Report and a CBS News analyst.
