Sue BurdenIn the UK, IFF Research has recruited communications research specialist Sue Burden as Director of its Brand Marketing & Communications (BMC) team, which works for central and local government agencies, regulators and NGOs.

Burden joins following a three year stint at TNS UK, where she was Head of Brand & Communications Research. While there, she was instrumental in developing the firm’s ad tracking and brand communications offer, including pioneering measurement of emotional responses, the use of semiotics and new qualitative research techniques.

Following five years working as an ad agency planner, Burden became European Market Research Manager for Mars Confectionery, and then joined ad research specialist Diagnostic Research UK as MD.

Last month, London-based IFF announced sales of just over £8.7m for the financial year to 31st March 2009, an increase of 40% year on year.
