Marlboro, US-based direct response agency Mercury Media has employed Michael Goodman, formerly Director, Consumer Research for the Yankee Group, as Senior Director of Analytics.

Goodman has more than 15 years’ experience of providing companies with critical market intelligence and strategic direction. While at Yankee, he authored over 80 research reports. Before this, he was a Marketing Representative at Nielsen Media Research, developing the Nielsen Home Technology Report.

In his new role he will provide strategic vision, planning and actionable recommendations for all areas of performance-based advertising, including response analysis, attribution, segmentation, media planning and market research.

Mercury has also appointed William S. ‘Biff’ Burns, Jr. as Senior Director of Corporate Direct Response. CEO Ronald C. Pruett, Jr., comments on the hires: ‘As a performance-based media agency, research is our backbone and smart marketing is our business. Biff and Mike are top talents in their fields and I expect both will play a key role in the growth of our capabilities and client roster.’
