Shellye ArchambeauRatings giant Arbitron has appointed MetricStream CEO Shellye Archambeau as a new member of its Board of Directors.

Since 2002, Archambeau has worked for MetricStream, a provider of enterprise software that allows corporations to manage quality processes, regulatory and industry-mandated compliance activities and corporate governance initiatives.

Before this, she was CMO and EVP of Sales for Loudcloud, CMO for NorthPoint Communications, and President of Blockbuster's e-commerce division. Earlier in her career, Archambeau spent 15 years at IBM, holding several domestic and international executive positions.

She is a current member of the Information Technology Senior Management Forum, the Forum of Women Entrepreneurs and the Women's Council to the Board of Trustees for the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Archambeau has sat on the Council on Foreign Relations and has been inducted into the National Hall of Fame of the Negro Business and Professional Women's Club.

‘As Arbitron deploys a growing number of high-tech solutions in our media and marketing research services, Ms. Archambeau's insight and experience will be a great benefit to our senior executives as we invest in the initiatives that will help drive the company's future growth,’ Arbitron said in a statement.

Yesterday, Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) and Arbitron announced a settlement for their dispute over the PPM (Portable People Meter), which SBS claimed was undercounting its ethnic minority listeners.
