In the US, Nathan Shipley has rejoined the automotive aftermarket business unit of retail information firm The NPD Group as Director of Client Development.

The division launched an analytics service in July 2009, integrating multiple data sources including store-level point-of-sale data to address business issues such as sales force allocation, product mix and price.

Shipley began his career in the unit as an Account Manager for seven years, before leaving to join Nielsen where he worked as Relationship Manager, tasked with identifying marketplace trends using retail measurement, consumer panel, and other analytical tools and methods.

‘Nathan’s prior experience in working with aftermarket clients coupled with his experience at Nielsen makes him uniquely qualified to succeed in his new role,’ states Dawn Zieren, President of NPD’s automotive aftermarket business unit. ‘His collective experience and knowledge will enable him to hit the ground running.’
