Blue Bell, PA-based medical specialist Evolution Marketing Research has promoted Daniel R. Slawe to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Jennifer Steinberg to lead its Director of Field Services.

Slawe adds the COO role to that of General Counsel, as which he has served since 2009. Before this, he worked as a commercial litigator at a law firm in Philadelphia; and before this as a technology consultant in the banking and media industries. He holds bachelor's degrees in Sociology of Science and Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Company Principal Jim Cummings says Evolution has almost tripled in size since opening in 2007. ‘The time was right for us to hire a full-time operating officer who could put all of the necessary structures and processes in place to keep the company running smoothly... As General Counsel, Dan impressed us repeatedly with his operational thinking. He is very detail and process oriented and works well as the liaison between the researchers and the rest of the staff.’

Steinberg has handled Evolution's field logistics since 2008, and now takes overall charge of recruitment of top-level physicians for a range of qual and quant projects.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College and has worked as a Project Manager for domestic qualitative projects in the consumer, business-to-business and healthcare fields; as a key account manager and as MD of an MR and data-collection facility; and as an international qual project manager at a healthcare marketing research firm.

Her key responsibilities in the new role include the establishment of new and expanded relationships with the firm’s vendor partners, and the development of client service policies.

Company Principal Barry Cerf says the appointment reflects the company’s broad range of fieldwork types, requiring a strong leader of field services: ‘Jennifer is the right person for the job. Her vast experience enables her to detect and resolve issues quickly. Perhaps even more important, she has a penchant for figuring out how to make processes and systems work better.’
