Larry KramerIn New York, Appinions – which offers a platform to identify, analyze, monitor and engage with ‘influencers’ – has appointed Larry Kramer as a new member of its Board of Directors.

The platform features a database that includes millions of opinions extracted from blogs, Twitter, Facebook, forums, newspaper and magazine articles, and radio and TV transcripts.

Services include the Appinions Influencer Exchange, which enables PR agencies and brands to identify influencers based on any topic, brand, issue or person.

Kramer is currently an Adjunct Professor of Media Management at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Before this, he founded MarketWatch, which was sold to Dow Jones for $528m in 2005.

He was the first President of CBS Digital Media, and he now serves on several media company Boards, including Discovery Communications, American Media, Freedom Communications, BlackArrow and Harvard Business Publishing.

Commenting on the appointment, Appinions co-founder and CEO Larry Levy said: ‘As we drive to establish Appinions as a leading player in the fast-growing influence marketplace, Larry brings a strong track record within the digital media and traditional media worlds.
