The US-based Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA) has elected a new Board of Directors for 2011-12. The organization boasts almost 1,000 qualitative researchers worldwide as members. President Susan Thornhill, founder of Thornhill Associates in Hermosa Beach, CA, will lead the Board, whose other members are: Vice President Susan Saurage-Altenloh, Saurage Research (Houston, TX) Treasurer Foster Winter, Sigma: Research Management Group (Cincinnati, OH) Secretary Liz Van Patten, Van Patten Research (Southampton, NY) Susan Abbott, Abbott Research & Consulting (Toronto, Canada) Manuela Fletcher, Andrew Fletcher Consulting Ltd. (Wellington, New Zealand) Kendall Nash, Burke, Inc. (Cincinnati, OH) Benjamin Smithee, Spych Market Analytics (Arlington, TX) Monica Zinchiak, Z. Research Services (San Diego, CA). Describing the role as ‘an honor’, Thornhill comments: ‘This is a very exciting time to be in qualitative research with the advances in technology providing so many innovative research methods and tools.
