In New York, social media marketing agency Kinetic Social has appointed former WPP/GroupM exec Carree Syrek as Vice President of Social Media, with a focus on brand management, social strategy, and social media-related product development. Founded in early 2010, Kinetic Social provides advertisers and agencies with a suite of audience-based digital marketing services. Syrek joins from WPP-owned media and marketing services firm Mindshare Worldwide, where she served as Partner, Social Media Strategy, overseeing social strategy for clients. She previously worked there as the Engagement Director of Social Media and Digital Creative Production, with a focus on social media monitoring, insights and strategy across the multi-lingual APAC area. Prior to this, she held a variety of high-profile business analyst, application development and consultancy roles with global brands including IBM and Gartner.
