Magna
September 9 2008

In New York, Elizabeth Herbst-Brady has been appointed President of Magna, a unit of Interpublic Group’s (IPG) Mediabrands division that gathers media market intelligence for the company’s agencies and clients.

Previously Herbst-Brady ran advertising sales for 20th Television, a division of 20th Century Fox, where she was General Sales Manager, SVP of Syndication Ad Sales. Before that, she was SVP, Director of National Broadcast for Publicis Groupe’s Starcom.

She joins the Magna unit following its reorganization from a division which previously negotiated with networks on the price of TV spots, to one with a primary focus on research and analysis of audiences and the media industry.

Herbst-Brady commented on the unit’s shift in focus: ‘I see Magna as a strategic consultant to IPG agencies in regards to current and future media-related issues, serving as an aggregator of marketplace information, an analyzer of future trends and an important facilitator of IPG’s media strategy.’

In her new role, Herbst-Brady reports to the US Presidents of Initiative and Universal McCann, Tim Spengler and Mary Gerzema respectively.
