Kate SirkinEVP Director of Global Research Kate Sirkin is part of a new global management team formed by media comms agency Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG).

Sirkin began her career 20 years ago as a Media Researcher in Leo Burnett's London office. In her current role, she oversees teams which conducts research into emerging media trends, initiates proprietary studies and translates raw data into insights. During her career, Sirkin has spearheaded a number of research initiatives that have helped to expand the field of media research, including the introduction of a quarterly report on Internet usage across a wide range of demographic groups.

SMG's new team has been brought together by CEO Laura Desmond and comprises 10 executives who will work closely with the company’s regional leadership team.

‘Our reinvention as Agency of the Future requires a strategic infrastructure of the right people in the right places,’ Desmond said. ‘The talented team of leaders I have identified will help us move more aggressively, ensuring we become the preferred client partner in every market we do business.’

SMG is part of the Paris-based communication group Publicis. Earlier in the year, Sirkin and colleague Jim Kite led a tracking study with online research agencies GMI and InsightExpress to uncover how ad messages influence consumer intentions to buy.
