New-York based tech specialist ABI Research has appointed Jason Blackwell as Senior Analyst and Mike Inouye as Industry Analyst in its Digital Home research practice.

Blackwell previously co-founded S2 Data Corporation, where he co-ordinated market research and organized industry events for the mobile digital television, IPTV and digital media markets. Before this, he was Market Research Analyst and later Director of Operations and End Market Research at Semico Research. He has a BS in Management and an MBA from Arizona State University, and holds a Master of International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

In his new role, Blackwell will focus on analysis of the home networking and digital media markets.

Prior to joining, Inouye was a Research Analyst at MMI and In-Stat, where he researched and produced reports and forecasts in the areas of digital broadcast satellite/terrestrial set top boxes, broadband consumer premises equipment, solid state drives, and consumer media and content. Earlier, he served as Research Assistant/Research Technician in the paediatrics department of the University of Arizona. He holds a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.

At ABI, Inouye will cover the digital media and consumer video technologies markets.
