Andrew Schmitt has joined Infonetics Research as Directing Analyst for Optical, based in the company’s Boston metro office in Massachusetts. He will work with Michael Howard, principal analyst and co-founder, as he transitions into the role. Schmitt brings 18 years of telecom experience, including 14 focused specifically on optical networking and including SONET/SDH, MSPP, crossconnect, WDM, ROADM, packet optical transport, 10G, 40G, 100G, metro and long-haul. Prior to joining Infonetics, he founded and managed Nyquist Capital, an equity advisory and consulting firm for both carriers and the financial institutions investing in them. Before this, he worked at Vitesse Semiconductor in roles including Director of Marketing and Systems Engineering. Schmitt contributes to many media publications, presents at industry conferences and holds multiple issued and pending patents for TDM switching and interface architectures. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
