MAGNA
March 27 2009

Brian WieserIn New York, media agency MAGNA has promoted Brian Wieser to the position of Global Director of Forecasting. He replaces Robert Coen, who at the age of 86 is stepping down from the role after seven decades of forecasting the advertising business.

Wieser, who was previously Senior VP-Director of Industry Analysis, will now lead forecasting and strategic advisory services on a global basis.

‘Brian has been operating in the emerging space for quite some time, during which he has built a solid reputation for accuracy while creating high demand for his forecasting work,’ said President Elizabeth Herbst-Brady. ‘His unique analytic style and refined understanding of the complexities of emerging technology will make him an unmatched strategic guide for our industry.’

During his career, Coen has tracked spending trends in local and national media, compared ad spending with gross domestic product and examined plans by marketers across numerous categories. He will continue to play a key role at MAGNA as Lead Advisor.

As part of the Interpublic Group, the firm negotiates media on behalf of clients of group agencies Universal McCann, Initiative Media, and other media shops around the world.
