Compete Hires Bremer for CRO Role

Kantar's online behavior analysis arm Compete has hired former Harris Interactive leader John Bremer as Chief Research Officer, to serve as the firm's primary expert on digital research approaches, models and techniques.

John BremerCompete was founded in 2000 and is located in Boston, MA, with offices throughout the US. The firm recently revamped its Referral Analytics tool, which helps clients uncover how a competitor or partner web site is acquiring users and adjust their own marketing accordingly.

Bremer joins from marketing and media research company Affinity, where he also worked as Chief Research Officer. Prior to this, he was the co-director of the Harris Interactive Center for Innovation, while also working as Head of Research Methodology/Global Representatives for Harris Interactive. He joined the firm as a research scientist in 1999.

Earlier in his career, Bremer was a Research Associate in the Analytical Resources Group at advertising agency DDB Needham; and before this, he became well-known for developing advanced research techniques to ensure the representativeness of online data, for forecasting election results and linking data from different data sources and data types.

In his new role, he will also focus on the development of new standards and policies for data quality.
