Speech Analytics Firm Raises $4m

US speech analytics specialist CallMiner is aiming for further rapid expansion after closing a $4m Series C round of funding.

Eureka software extracts key information from callsFounded in 2002, CallMiner captures contact center conversations to give clients 'the voice of the customer'. The firm's Eureka software automates the process of extracting information from customer calls.

'CallMiner's industry leading speech analytics platform - Eureka - continues to gain rapid traction in the marketplace as evidenced by two consecutive years of triple digit marquee customer growth and corresponding revenue growth,' states CEO Terry Leahy.

'As CallMiner enters 2011, we are poised to capture an even larger share of the market with our advanced enterprise speech analytics product, as well as other expansion plans,' he adds.

The funding has been led by private investment firms Sigma Partners, Intersouth Partners and Inflexion Partners, with support from Village Ventures and In-Q-Tel.

CallMiner raised an undisclosed amount in March 2009, and according to a spokesperson has raised about $22m since its launch.

Separately, the company has recently promoted Adam Walton to Senior Vice President of Global Sales and appointed Kristen Mikovich as Chief Operating Officer.
