Kantar Media Names New Leadership Team

In New York, Kantar Media has promoted George Carens to the role of President of Kantar Media Intelligence North America and Steve Davis to that of President of Kantar Media SRDS. In addition, the firm has hired former Nielsen exec David Hamric as General Manager of its Marx solution.

George Carens and Steve DavisKantar Media offers a full range of media insights and audience measurement services through its global business sectors - Intelligence, Audiences, TGI and Custom; as well as through its companies Compete, Cymfony and SRDS .

Carens previously served as President of Kantar Media SRDS, and of Kantar Media Healthcare. In his new role, he replaces Mark Nesbitt, who the firm says 'has left the company'.

Prior to Kantar Media's acquisition of SRDS from Nielsen in 2008, Carens held various management, marketing strategy and business development roles at Nielsen, before which, he worked in product management roles at AT&T.

Davis previously served as SVP of Sales and Client Service at Kantar Media SRDS, and earlier, he was VP/Group Publisher for SRDS at Nielsen and VP of Sales for PERQ/HCI (now Kantar Media Professional Health). Alongside his new role, Davis will also oversee Kantar Media Healthcare, which includes Kantar Media Professional Health and Kantar Media's MARS Consumer Healthcare.

Until 2000, Hamric was EVP at Nielson, and before this, he served as Director of Industry Specific Databases at Dun and Bradstreet. In his new position, he will be responsible for leading the Marx solution, which offers consumer promotion information and a source for coupon tracking information.
