Kösters Steps Down as TNS Infratest CEO

In Germany, TNS Infratest CEO Andreas Kösters has left the company to focus on business interests outside the market research sector. While the company seeks a replacement, his role will be managed by Winfried Hagenhoff and Hartmut Scheffler.

Andreas Kösters and Klaus-Peter SchöppnerKösters joined the qual research firm in 2011, from the Board of scientific publisher Springer Science+Business Media. He began his career in corporate development with Bertelsmann and subsequently served as CFO at Bertelsmann Construction Information Group, then as CEO of the B2B publishing group of Springer Science+Business Media.

In a statement, the firm commented: 'Kösters led the development of the company in times of change. We wish him every success in his future activities and thank him for three years' commitment and corporate governance.'

Separately, Klaus-Peter Schöppner, the MD of Infratest subsidiary TNS Emnid Media and Social Research, has resigned after 40 years with the company and twenty years in the role. He will continue on a consultancy basis, and is succeeded by Oliver Krieg, who has spent the past ten years as the firm's Head of Policy and Social Research.
